Two step activator cure acrylic

Should Activator be applied on both the surfaces

Activator plays a role of initiating the chemical reaction to polymerize the acrylic adhesive. Hence, application on a single surface is sufficient to achieve optimum bond strength

What is the proportion in which activator must be used

Approximately 5:1 by weight is the proportion (Adhesive:Activator) good enough for optimum result

Can I mix Activator with acrylic adhesive

Mixing of Activator and adhesive is strongly discouraged.Application must follow in two steps. One surface to be applied with Activator and other surface to be applied with adhesive.Once done, both the surfaces to be bonded by proper conact.Mixing prior to bonding can result in premature curing of the adhesive.

How log does the effect of Activator remains on surface

Typically the effect of activator remains for around 2hours.

Impact of surface gap on performance of acrylic adhesive

When using 2 step acrylic adhesive (activator cure acrylic adhesive) surface gaps can play an important role in final bond strength. Since these acrylic adhesives are activator cureproper matching of surface and good flatness is important for optimum bonding.Surfaces with high gaps or improper flatness or rough finish can be bonded using “Static Mixer cure acrylic adhesive”

Surface cleaning and degreasing

As with all other adhesives, optimum bonding requires that bonded surfaces are cleaned and degreased with Loxeal Cleaner-10.A surface well cleaned and degreased always shows higher bonding than an unclean surface.

Bead on bead cure acrylic adhesives

What happens if each single bead of Loxeal is not of same size as other

Bead on bead adhesive are formulated to achieve excellent results even if activator and adhesive components are not applied in equal proportion.Bead over bead of side by side bead, they work well either way.

Can I mix Activator with acrylic adhesive

Yes,both ways the product works well.

Static mixer cure acrylic

What are the targeted applications for a static mix cure acrylic adhesives

These adhesive work particularly well on plastics, ofcourse like most others they also work excellent on metals,ceramics etc.

If they work so well on plastics,can I use them for bonding Polyolefins such as PP,PE,HDPE,LDPE et al

Not all but there are especially formulated “Polyolefin bonders” in our range that suit excellent for these difficult to bonding plastics. Pls refer to our”Polyolefin bonder” section for more details.

Can we use static mixer cure adhesive for gap filling applications.

Yes.unlike Activator cure acrylic, static mixer cure arylics can fill gaps.

Polyolefin bonder acrylic adhesive

Which substrates do Polyolefin bonder acrylic adhesives bond

While they are well suited for most metals,ceramics etc they are especially formulated for bonding of PP,PE,HDPE,LDPE,EPDM.PTFE and other low surfaceenergy substrates which are otherwise very difficult to bond.

Why is Loxeal 3460 and 3461 glass filled

These products are glass filled to ensure they are seld regulated when it comes to maintaining certain gaps.With optimum gap, these products performextremely well.

Do I need to take any other surface preparation steps while using Polyolefin bonder acrylic adhesive

No special steps are required apart from ensuring that the surface is clean from any foreign particles or substrance.

Loxeal has so many different types of acrylic adhesives,which ones to use for an application seems very confusing.
